The Bleak, Dorky, Clever Lego Photography Of Mike Stimpson
I must be getting old, Youdopians. The younger Mojozoso would definitely think this lego photo recreation of the execution of a Viet Cong prisoner (the famous Eddie Adams photo) was sick and twisted, and kinda funny. I t generally don’t really w00t that much over lego stuff, or anyone who fucks with a Barbie and calls it art. Sorry. It’s all good, I just don’t dig it. However, the good folks at Wired put together an anthology of lego photo recreations, like the one above, and I wanted to share it with you. The photographer (lego dude) is Mike Stimpson.
I have been to see the lego pic on your site a couple of times today. I already know the picture in question by heart. And I just have to say that I think that is in the worst taste I have ever seen. Maybe it’s the smiles… or that it’s a child’s toy… Or my understandable visceral reaction to the original picture… But I think that this… to me… is obscene. Oh well… I guess that is where I am getting old too…

Yeah, I hear you. I think it’s pretty tasteless as well. But it’s that old different strokes argument. I thought it is was provocative, and it caught my eye, so I posted it. The smiles, the toys, the horror of killing… the whole shebang.
