Well, Youdopia, is it that time already? We’ve had pop singers turn into crooners singing the classics, as they enter the September of their years (Rod Stewart comes to mind). Now, the Eighties are so long ago that Limahl, the too shy shy singer from Kajagoogoo now has a swing band. The twist is he sings 80′s classics with swing arrangements. It’s horrible, and … well…. look. Craziest shit ever, for sure. NO NO NO! All you 80′s fans who think the 80′s were anything but fucking awful… you are not allowed to like this. And NO NO NO all you people who follow the ” It’s so bad it’s good” ethos.. no. Bad. Go lay down! This is shit.
I did not listen. I will not allow one single note to enter my tired cranium. There is a back-story. In Florida (the limp phallus of our great nation) it is now “Cool and Trendy” to play eighties music in the places I enjoy dining. I have heard every piece of shit song that sucked then, and sucks now at EVERY place I eat. The trend is staring to die off, but the last two years have been hell. The cuisine does not matter: Mexican, Latin, Asian, Italian, Euro, Bistro, Burger joint, Et al. You never know when you will be hit. Look out below, “Your to, Shy Shy” Fuck you Limahl, Fuck you.

Thank you, by the way. You were there with me. Chess King paisley shirts, perms, and white jeans aside (guilty)… the 80′s were a steaming pile of dung. Nothing good. Nothing good. And to have it come back, and have people think that the 80′s were cool… why? The Cosby show? Saved by the Bell? Madonna? JESUS. The 80′s were so lame not even Jimmy Page was able to be cool until 1988, and even then his backing band were soulless, on the beat automatons.
I wasted 1:53 of my life listening. Got tempted by the “so bad, it’s good” reference. I just don’t know what’s worse, the fact that this can exist, or the fact that people actually PAY AND LISTEN TO THIS CRAP!! And how the fuck is he able to fund an entire orchestra off ONE (okay, two) hits from 20+ years ago? Must be venture capital at play here. And this must be the Vegas-Reno circuit. Whatever…it boggles the mind.
