Music: Led Zeppelin Playing Louie Louie And Sly Stone’s Everyday People.
15 Apr, 2009 in fnord, Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin, musicThis is Led Zeppelin playing Louie Louie, and Sly Stone’s Everyday People. It’s from the same show that was released as How The West Was Won, but it didn’t make the official release. It’s too bad. I like it. I think it starts at the end of Thank You, with the organ, and just rolls on. This is 6/25/72 at the LA Forum. The same night, the Stones played one of their most bootlegged, and (I think) filmed, shows. Must be a good day for rick and roll. Enjoy, youdopia. I love music.

Re: 6/25/72 good day for rock and roll…well, duh, the Dead did not play that day, so someone had to step up and fill their shoes. And it took two bands to do so ;^)
And, I must say, this clip is a treasure.
It’s a great show. I love the cover versions, spontaneous often, that they used to play. That tapered off in 1973, and then after that I can only think of a handful of times thereafter they would do that. I know they did Sex Machine in 75, and Mystery Train and It’ll Be Me in 1977. After that is Money (that’s what I want) in Frankfurt 1980. I think that may be it.
1972 was also the last year for Plant’s high register. His voice was not at its best until 1977, when Jimmy was not at his best.
Swan Song indeed.
Thank you, Mr. Zeppelepedia. The musical wells from which the LZ front three drank were rich indeed, and I’ve always wondered how much of such snippets were improved vs. semi-improved. We may never know. Regardless, the world is a better place thanks to Youdopia.
What an awful illustration. It is just Ugly.
Good Song. Nice Quality.
Good Zeppelin Treasure.
Yes, the album cover is ugly, to be sure, but it is the original bootleg LP cover from the 1970′s, and thus applicable. I throw the images in b/c when Youdopia updates on Facebook, the image is shown as a thumbnail, whereas the video isn’t.
I’m trying to get more traffic, and readers. The strategy is post regularly, respond to comments, and see what happens. Kiki is a social media expert, and her PR firm shows that. She used Twitter and Facebook to promote herself and her clients, and I am following her example, albeit in a microcosmic way.
thanks for posting this. When I read about the louie louie cover on wikipedia I googled it and this showed up. Let me know if you find any other obscure Zep tracks.
