I have a confession to make, Youdopia. I love Borat. I don’t like Bruno, and I don’t like Ali G (at all), but I love Borat. Why? The Misogyny, mainly, along with the over the top anti-semitism.
Mel Brooks makes me laugh for similar reasons.
Borat visited David Letterman to promote his then upcoming film, and I happen to think this interview is the Funniest Shit Ever.

Man, I just don’t get his shit. I know that it’s poking at the fabric of society… but I don’t get why I should laugh at people who are struggling to make sense of a situation they are confused in.
I am glad you like him though…
I usually hate this kind of thing as well. It’s low brow, and it’s cheap. Borat got me though. Every other character of his I dislike, and I generally dislike this style of humor. I didn’t like the driving instructor bit, but… the plague development line kills me.
Sigh. The Mark, the Mark…it’s easy to hide behind a fictitious buffoon of a character and crack lines like that. Compared, say, to Bill Hicks or Sam Kinnison (who I know you’re a fan of), who just courageuosly and unabashedly lay it down.
