Lip Syncing But Still Cool

Early Zeppelin

Guess what I woke up to, Youdopia? A brand new Led Zeppelin video. It’s not new, really, it’s newly discovered. In 1969 Led Zeppelin lip synced Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, and You Shook Me for the German tv show, The Beat Club.  Babe was discovered a year or so ago. You Shook Me seems to be a digital broadcast from Music Air Network (Japan). The quality is amazing. You probably won’t want to watch all six and a half minutes of it, since it’s just a pantomimed performance, but the discovery was posted on LedZeppelin.com by BillyMacQ, and is quickly making the rounds. Thanks, Billy. Great music is always welcome, and I think it’s the Coolest Shit Ever.

  1. Hilarious. Robert Plant forgets to bring his harmonica to the mic, LOL> Hey, he was a Kid after all. Not his fault. The rest of the VAMPING is so funny I had to pee, get a beer, a smoke and a good old fashioned laugh out loud before I could look at it again. GRINS***** Thanks for the Funniest Shit Ever. Youdopia for the Win !!!1. That is pure humor.

You’re 100% right. I put this up for cheez factor. It’s easy to see why this pristine video was not included in the DVD. It’s also easy to see why zeppelin didn’t do tv after 1969. Who the fuck would choose You Shook Me, and Babe I’m Gonna Leave You as the two songs to mime on tv? Good Times Bad Times, and Communication Breakdown ftw.
