Free Download Friday – Pink Floyd Live In Ontario 1975. Live Wish You Were Here, Dark Side, Echoes and More
10 Sep, 2010 in fnord, Free Download, musicHappy Free Download Friday! I’ve got another Pink Floyd show for you. This is on the heels of the live Dark Side of the Moon show i post a couple of weeks back. Live music is awesome, Youdopia, and I love sharing my music with you. Did you see the video of the Dave Gilmour/Roger Waters reunion show I posted earlier? Check it out.
This show is from 6/28/75 in Hamilton, Ontario. The sound quality is EX. It’s an incredible audience recording that is virtually indistinguishable from a professional record. The stereo soundstage is wide and well defined. I you were to buy this show as a live album, you would be happy with it, quality-wise. I got my copy off of QualityBootz. The music is amazing.
Aside from the sound quality, another reason I an sharing this show is the setlist. Pink Floyd open with two new songs (works in progress) that will end up on their next album, Animals. So you have two songs from Animals, most of the Wish You Were Here album, Dark Side, and Echoes. That’s too cool to pass up. Even if you’re a casual Floyd fan, this show will make you happy. It has, basically, every Floyd song the average dude knows (not counting The Wall) in one concert.
Random quote from the show, “I’m sure some of you remember good old Syd.” – Intro to Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
Like I always do, I converted the FLAC files to LAME VBR mp3 for you. You can see the setlist and all that (including artwork) right here:

Comments: I received this show in DAT about 10 years ago from a very reliable source. The lineage on the DAT I have says “Unknown Mics>Master Reel>DAT so I’m pretty positive this is a master DAT clone.
The show is one of the best audience recordings I’ve heard. I know there are other sources from this show that are currently in circulation, the most recent one I’m aware of is Harvested REV A Version. I downloaded the Steel Breeze version and although it sounds good, to my ears it appears to run a tad slow when I compare these two files.
You be the judge.

These are the notes that came with the torrent originaly posted on The Traders Den on 2005.09.09. I included these notes with the files as it came with none, and I created a MD5. This may be the best version I have heard. This is unremastered and uncut.

This is very cool! Will be posting about in on the hamiltonthisis blog. I live within a stones throw of Ivor Wynne. It’s a shame after the Floyd concert, one Rush concert was held, and there has never been one since.
Wow! Thank you! You have a great blog. In my day job I work with lots of folks from Ontario. Sounds lovely. Thank you again for your post! Keep reading!
SWEET !!! I am a huge Pink Fan. She is great.
Just kidding of course. This is an amazing show can’t wait to hear it all.
Thanks for the effort.
Dude, this is not Pink. It’s Pink Floyd. Please don’t mix the both. They are a world apart. No comparison. At all…
Oops. My bad
Lol. How did you get Pink from this? I’ll have to go back and read my text.
Thanks Mark. Great bootlegs. I’ve been listening to the Rush in LA boot for weeks now. I saw them in the Boston Garden last night, 10th row. I even got a wave from Alex. It’s great to see these boys are playing and sounding better than ever. Not completely resting on their accomplishments, the new songs were great. I think Geddy was impressed I knew the lyrics to the new songs. Even got a nod at one point during BU2B. Anyway, after 25 years of going to Rush concerts, they never get any less exciting. Hey, how about putting up the Oslo 1979 show?
Yay, Mark! I’m glad you had such a good time. It’s always amazing when you’re acknowledged by the performers.
I don’t keep the Rush shows I download, b/c they’re not my cup of tea. I will keep an eye out for Oslo 79, though. What is special about it? Have you checked out the Digital Rush Experience? They’re a group of fans who rate, catalog, and distribute the live Rush catalog. Google can bring you to them. You can see all the live music, an video (there’s a ton of video) from your boys.
I was at the concert in 1975. It was fantastic then, and fantastic to hear it again after all these years. Thank you so much for making it available.
That’s awesome, Greg! You’re very welcome! I hope it brings back good memories. It’s a hell of a show.
Hey, nice one. I watched most of that concert by sneaking in and out of the hotdog stand I was working at when I was 15. Hamilton was a mess that week!!
Nice! Thanks for commenting.
I was at this concert. The sound was amazing. I am most definitely enjoying the reminisce. I noticed a Rush fan in the list – I saw them at Maple Leaf Gardens (in Toronto, where they are from) a few years later. Also awesome. Those two concerts still count as number one and two in my list.
I was at this show. General admission.
Got cheese grated on the fence on the way in.
It was a great day.
Anyone have my first concert, Nazareth-Rush & Bullrush at Hamilton Forum.
They had a tarp covering the turf which became like a huge slip and slide, except it wasn’t water. We sat front and center and I’m certain that was me yelling “Sit Down” during Echoes so the guy with the tape recorder must have been close to front and center, at one point you can hear some guy say jokingly to him “Hey,that’s illegal !” I think there was 65,000 people there.
Do you have the recording from 1977 in Montreal July 6th, Olympic Stadium ?
I would love to download that one too.
Thanks for Ivor Wynn, I was at both shows.
Hi Marc,
I’m sorry, I don’t have the ’77 show from Montreal. I don’t have that much Floyd. I have hundreds of Zeppelin, and related, shows, but fewer than ten Floyd shows.
There are places you can try, though. This show is the infamous ” spitting” show, where Roger spits on an audience member. There are multiple versions of this show around. Try Yeeshkul.com . Here’s a list of the different versions available. Good luck! http://home.roadrunner.com/~jj947/Y_INDEX.HTML
Thanks for your help ZoSo re the 77 montreal show, I will try that link.
I remember that day. Couldn’t get tickets … they were way sold out. We drove around and walked around the stadium listening from outside. A lot more people than tickets. Drinking, smoking up, pissing and crapping all over the streets. Everyone’s lawns were trashed. IT WAS GREAT! That’s probably why we never had another concert like that again
