Archer on FX Is The Funniest Thing Ever. I Think It’s The Cruelty And Misogyny.
3 Jun, 2011 in fnord, funniest shit ever, humorIf you like this blog and haven’t watched Archer yet, prepare to be delighted. H Jon Benjamin doesn’t look like his voice, so we should hate him. He has one voice so the convenience store manager on Family Guy, and Bob, from Bob’s Burgers, all have the same voice. So we should hate him.
I actually didn’t care for Archer when my friends suggested it. However, I gave it another chance (you can watch it full episodes on FX.com) and I think it’s hilarious. Cavalier violence, indifference to others, and blatant misogyny make Archer a beacon of Ha in a sea of Meh. Hmm, “sea of Meh”. That will be the name of my semiautobiographical one man play. “Sailing the seas of Meh: Why Life Let Me Down”. Nice. So watch Archer. Or don’t. I already got your traffic. ![]()

Glad you like it…
H Jon also did a Rabbi and ‘Beamy’ the talking support pillar in the show ‘Cheap seats’… just CAN NOT match him with Archer though. It’s too dichotomous.
But if the humor was reversed and instead of misogyny (hatred and humiliation of women) it was misandry (hatred and humiliation of men), would the show still be considered funny by it’s male viewers?
Or would we all complain and complain until they changed the writing or took the show off the air?
To be honest, if there was that much disrespect against my gender I wouldn’t enjoy watching the show. And I hate hypocrisy. So therefore I don’t watch it.
Comedy isn’t supposed to be politically correct, but this is just a dump fest on the female gender.
