I grew up in New Hampshire, in the 80′s. Rap didn’t permeate the hard rock bubble of Boston Metro, probably because the most ethnic group we had were the French Canadians. They spoke differently and we mocked them ceaselessly.
Anyway, I didn’t listen to the blacks growing up, therefore this is new to me, and it’s awesome.
