You Forget So Easy

Radiohead Live In Poland 2009

I really like Radiohead. I don’t listen to them 10,000 times a day (in fact 4 years ago I wrote about how I wished I liked Radiohead more), but my wife does, and for good reason. They’re one of the best bands around. Jonny Greenwood is a straight up musical genius (he is house composer for the BBC), and if you watch In Rainbows From The Basement, you’ll see such a well oiled machine that at first you might not notice that they’re all playing a million different instruments at every moment.

You And Whose Army is one of my favorite songs ever. This performance is one of my favorite, not because of the quality (it’s an audience cam from the front row), or even the quality of the performance (I like other shows better), but because of the playful interaction. Thom uses the giant monitors to become the Eye of god, and ham it up a bit. I love hearing the delight from the crowd, and then the comedic slow turn to look at the audience… good stuff.

The song is one of the best ever. Listen to the original, and then listen to it a million times… it’s still amazing. In fact, Radiohead are the coolest thing ever.
