Youdopia is the name of this blog. I came up with it one evening, in Charlotte, North Carolina, back in 2007. I just started my first paid job as a writer, writing industry blogs, and ad copy for video on demand company. I made some cool friends there, and it seemed that everyone had their own websites. I followed suit and created a blog on Blogspot. After hours of soul searching, and chemical supplication, I decided to call my blog You-Dope-ia.  Tee hee, right? I’m a knee slapper. Whenever I say that name in my head, it’s always in the voice of Robert Anton Wilson (who is a tremendous influence of mine), which seems kind of funny to me.

After a couple of months I bought about a dozen domains, most of which were for affiliate marketing, but among those sites was youdopia.com.  Originally there was more weird religious, ontological, la di da posts, because I was pretty fresh off my major in Religious Studies, and I was much more erudite then now (entropy).  I tried to envision, and portray, Youdopia as some anarchic online nation (a la Hakim Bey)

From a fairly lofty ideal Youdopia has become a kind of humor blog, with a huge amount of Led Zeppelin, and Jimmy Page, content. Good stuff still. Don’t change that channel. There’s some really funny stuff here, as well as some amazing music, and just a bunch of other stuff. Take a look.
