It Might Be Bumpy For A Bit

I am going to move my site to another host, sometime this week. There will likely be downtime, so don’t go bonkers if Youdopia isn’t around, or it isn’t being updated as much.

I’m moving it to greener pastures, with a nice older couple upstate. They have a farm and Youdopia will get to run and play and chase butteflies.

Seriously, I am a busy guy, and I hate doing things, so this will likely take longer than it needs to, so if I’m down for a few days, stick with me. I’ll still get you to the promised land.

If the bad guys speak like the good guys are supposed to, and the good guys act like bad guys… and the good guys imprison, torture, lie, extort, exploit, and exhaust the country, and the people whom they are sworn to serve (remember… public servants), then I believe the time has come for a reevaluation of current values. I can see this anytime I want. I could see it now, if I got on the roof. I would be able to see it from my window, but there are too many beautiful trees. Me gusto mucho. I’m so glad we moved back, and so happy we were able to. Life is good.

This movie In Search Of The Great Beast 666 was apparently made by a quasi-sentient fungus with no sense of humor, or it was made by my grandmother. By this I mean it is a tad biased against Frater Perderabo.

Aleister Crowley (seen here as a kitty cat) is a polarizing, yet deeply significant, person. This movie seems kind of fluffy to me, although it’s pleasing to watch. I’m watching this now, and I’m at 1:54 of a 2:06 long movie and we’re still in 1924. Crowley died in 1947. I know nothing of this movie other than there’s a lot of corn in it. They play the old ” Is George W Bush the grandson of Aleister Crowley?”  thing. Holy mackerel. Tell when the Rapture is while you’re at it, numbnuts.

No ha ha’s here, I’m afraid. Teacher Martha Rivera Alanis was teaching her class in Monterrrey, Mexico, when a shoot out broke out, outside. She makes the kids lay on the floor, and then she sings songs with them (as people outside are being killed) to keep them calm. Incredible courage, and compassion is shown in the video. Let's never fight again.

After six weeks of darkness, Youdopia lives again.  My ISP went under, and all their hosted sites (including mine) were frozen. Until my (old) ISP paid their overdue balance, I was powerless to get my site back (with lawyers and money and even then… jesus). After weeks of furious fist pounding and binge drinking, I finally got my sites released. It was very much like leaving your laptop in your friends car, while you hang out at his house, and his car gets repossessed.

I had fought off junk sickness with a Tumblr, so you can see that I still thought of you.

So now what? Same old same old, I guess. There’s some stuff I missed, like the Pink Floyd reunion a couple weeks back, and I’ll get that up, but other than that, let’s just never speak of this again. Eat your peas before they get cold.

There have been people like me before. They were called witches, saints, gods, wizards… people who could make miracles happen. Some of them (not all of them) did what I do.

[NOTE]
We should write a series featuring several different people from different eras, who have this ability. Everyone gets one issue, and there should be between 4 and 7 people.  We can then expand upon the most popular ones. Even without significant reader feedback, at least one story will stand out as an obvious winner.
One of the stories (a short, one or two page special) should be about a monkey who has this ability. No words, just images, telling the story of the luckiest monkey in the whole world.

I grew up around the corner from Patricia Racette, in Bedford, New Hampshire. I never really got to know her, as I was a few years younger, and a little too far away to play in the same circles, but I remember her and her brother Peter, as really nice people. Anyway, Patricia went on to become a professional opera star (soprano) with a truly beautiful voice.

I saw her name listed on Wikipedia among the noteworthy people who hail from Bedford, and from there I was led to her wikipedia page, and then her webpage.  It was there that I found her sweet, funny, loving, happy video telling kids that it gets better. She and her wife, mezzo soprano Beth Clayton, seem like lovely people, and watching them together made me smile.

So don’t kill yourself kids, especially over high school bullshit.  It gets better.

Front porch pundits Jackie and Dunlap, from Red State Update, have created a commercial for Aleister Crowley for president in 2012.  It’s hilarious, mainly because there is a real knowledge of Crowley and Thelema shown in their hijinks.  I was surprised at how funny this is. I’ve written of Crowley before.

The Aleister Crowley for president thing is real, as a write in campaign. The purpose is to not only show disdain for the bullshit same old/same old by writing in a silly name (Mickey Mouse, or Cthulhu) but to also show a yearning for Liberty. Whatever. It’s funny, and I like it. I would say it’s the Funniest Shit Ever.
