I wish the picture had been taken from a better angle, but I see it. The Cassini Probe has given me many lovely picture posts, like this and this. This arrow shaped cloud is, alas, not directions to the party that the cool kids are having. It’s just science. Pretty cool doodle, though. I found this story on Softpedia news.

Youdopia, that little doodle is a sweet pic of our little Earth, and our companion moon. It was shot from the orbit of Mercury. There is something so adorable about this simple arrangements of dots. I never knew that I would derive such pleasure from our Messenger probe around Mercury.  I had another beautiful image from this probe, that I posted earlier. I think it’s the Coolest Shit Ever.

As you know, Youdopia, Galileo was one of the great minds of the Renaissance. What you may not know, and what I certainly did not know, is that Galileo’s fingers, thumb, and a toot of his, are on display. They have been for hundreds of years.

Galileo died in 1642, in relative disgrace. He had the audacity to be right about heliocentricism. By 1737 the evidence was overwhelming and the dicks in the Vatican had to concede that their pagan idol (Aristotle) was wrong about geocentricity. Anyway, that’s a long story, and I accidentally erased my first draft of this post, so suffice it to say that one can go to a museum in Florence, and see Galileo’s mummified fingers, along with some of his notebooks (cool) and even some of the instruments he made himself (super fucking cool).

Knock knock. Who’s There? Infinity. Infinity who? Infinity is pretty amazingly large. My dear Youdopia, one of the blogs I read daily, is The Daily Grail. This little video which is a zippity doo dah tour from Tibet to the edge of the cosmic horizon and back, was posted there. I just nicked it and reposted it here. Ta da. I’m an ahtist.

This video was made by the American Museum of Natural History, and it’s pretty cool. Is it the Coolest Shit Ever? Well, no, it’s not mind blowing. It is pretty cool, though.  Considering that we’re finding watery planets all over the place now, and even watery moons in our own solar system… we might want to bone up on the neighborhood.
