This is both awful and hilarious, Youdopia. It’s awful because a woman was attacked in her home, and almost raped. That’s not funny at all. Luckily her brother was home and chased the guy away before things progressed. The funny part is what the brother says on the air. It’s just… it’s just …. I mean I hope this guy and his friends catch the rapist and kill him, but … just watch. It’s the Craziest Shit Ever.

Youdopia, I hope that you know my love and appreciation for the works of Robert Anton Wilson. He introduced me to the rate of information acquisition (he called it the Jumping Jesus), and how information doubles every few months (now) and is getting faster and faster. That much is pretty much empirically true, as I understand it.

I know nothing about Ray Kurzweil, other than what’s in this trailer. I think it’s neat. I do not endorse it. If you get all huffy and say it’s bullshit, I will not be offended, nor will I take up the flag in defense. I think it’s neat, and it makes me want to look into Kurzweil’s work more. In any case, I hope we can agree that Kurzweil’s vision of the future is the Craziest Shit Ever. Thank you to the Daily Grail for turning me on to this.

Yesterday,  I heard a story on NPR (I am in my 40’s, and progressive. I listen to NPR) about “Digital Drugs”  on YouTube. The story is that certain beats and frequencies, (when listened to with headphones) can stimulate the parts of the brain affected by real drugs. This is, of course, total bullshit, and NPR said just that.

There is no free lunch, Youdopia. You can’t get high by I-Dosing. You have to take real drugs to get really high. That’s life. (unfortunately).  NPR made that clear. Of course you can’t. Yet the Daily Mail ran this alarmist piece of claptrap, sure to make parents, grandparents, politicians, and religious types all shout, “Rabble Rabble”.

It all relates to binaural beats, which do exist, but they can’t make you high, or stop smoking, or grow hair, or lose weight. Life isn’t life that. Where’s your messiah now?

If you want to roll, you need to take E. If you want to trip, you need to take a psychedelic, and if you want to get high, you need to get a vaporizer and some wonderful, sticky, green, with the red hairs, and the… where was I? Oh yes, people are stupid and you can’t download drugs. The fact that this is an issue is the Craziest Shit Ever.

Mel Gibson is fucking crazy. Last week I posted a Jon Lajoie song about him, and now I see that South Park had it right, all those years ago, when they did the Passion of the Jew episode. This isn’t really Youdopia material, but I’ve been sucked into after listening to the audio of his rants.

If you haven’t taken the time, and if you care a little, even in a rubberneckin’ Rotten.com way, then get thee to Radaronline and listen to the ravings of a megalomaniac. You may have seen this video already, Youdopia. It seems (at least this node) started on Arbroath, then to Cynical-C, where it was picked up by Laughing Squid. That’s where I saw it and posted it here.

There’s not much to say about it, other than there seems to be no doubt that the tortoise is acting with purpose to right its stricken comrade. Something about it tells me that after the video ends, the turtles fuck, but that may be just me. Salud! It’s the Craziest Shit Ever.

As you know, Youdopia, Galileo was one of the great minds of the Renaissance. What you may not know, and what I certainly did not know, is that Galileo’s fingers, thumb, and a toot of his, are on display. They have been for hundreds of years.

Galileo died in 1642, in relative disgrace. He had the audacity to be right about heliocentricism. By 1737 the evidence was overwhelming and the dicks in the Vatican had to concede that their pagan idol (Aristotle) was wrong about geocentricity. Anyway, that’s a long story, and I accidentally erased my first draft of this post, so suffice it to say that one can go to a museum in Florence, and see Galileo’s mummified fingers, along with some of his notebooks (cool) and even some of the instruments he made himself (super fucking cool).

Happy Wednesday, Youdopia. My webhost had some problems, so I went bye bye until they got sorted out. However, I used the time off to gain power, and now I am nigh invulnerable. I also found some funny stuff to share. This one features the sleeper hit, virtually unknown television show, LOST. I’ve written of it before. You can google it and see what it’s about.

This one is a project by Penney Design, and unfortunately it’s not real. Go to the site, and see all the variations of the game they made. Those of us who experienced that middle period between Atari and proper PC games (pre-Playstation, of course). I was tickled. It’s the Craziest Shit Ever.

I hate replacing razor blades. They cost a fucking fortune, and I have two women and myself to keep shorn. So when I saw this video, I was intrigued. I followed the advice, and I haven’t bought another blade. It’s easy, a little silly, but it works. My disposable blade is on it’s second month, and it’s still close and sharp. Try it. It is the craziest shit ever, but it works.

Meet Dale Peterson, Youdopia. He is a conservative Republican, running for office in Alabama. This man has made a campaign commercial so over the top, that Chuck Norris called him “too butch.”  His commercial is so…stereotypically Southern, Christian, Manly, Conservative that if you watch the parody made by Funny or Die, you’ll notice it’s not as satirical as the real thing. That’s post modern.
