This Is Pretty Funny

I’m posting this doodle because it’s Friday evening, I haven’t posted anything today, and I’m busy as hell. It’s ok. It’s funny. My friend Dale (who lives in NYC) sent this to me. He’s a good boy. You might remember him from such posts as Stanley Cup Outcome, and Dale Has Woman Troubles.  He found this map on Funny or Die.

What makes this funny, to me, are the little things. Example? Oregon (by default). The driving distance between LA and San Francisco is another. It’s cute. Enjoy.

It’s important to talk to your kids. My oldest daughter and I have remarkable conversations via text. We can both say things that we never can in person. Tee hee.

Banksy Strikes Again. No Christ This Time.

Banksy has once again popped up in my Tumblr.  Last time it was in Rio, painting Christ the Redeemer. I don’t know how old this one is, but it’s awesome. I love his doodles. They hold truth.  Langston Hughes used words, Banksy uses images, and perhaps one day we’ll all use our heads and realize that we need no masters.

This is a good one, more like Run and Tell That, than like Trololo. It’s super funny because it’s totally wrong in a ten dimensional way. This is a multifoliate joke, to butcher T.S. Eliot. I can’t remember the provenance of this picture. I took it to be mean to somebody, probably Dale, but I can’t remember why this would irk him. Maybe he’s scared of dolls? I don’t know. Its some kind of creepy love robot, I recall that much. Anyway, let’s call it the craziest thing ever.

These little doodles warm my heart, Youdopia. I give kudos to Fabian Glez for the very clever Boba Font, and Laughing Squid for telling me about it (and buzzfeed for telling them).  Here’s another visual pun, if you like em.

I love NASA’s image of the day. It makes me happy that there are little robots flying around the solar system, sending us information. Cassini sends gorgeous images of Saturn all the time, and I have posted them more than once. These little cosmic doodles will zing throughout the cosmos forever, even if we crash and burn.
