Did you know that Amy on Futurama (Lauren Tom) was also Ross’ girlfriend Julie on Friends? Now you do. That cleans my slate, karmically. Telling you that was the last gossamer thread tethering me to the illusion of worldly existence. Om shanti, I’m out.

Good news, everyone! Tonight is the return of Futurama. Set your phasers to ‘fun’.   Ha ha ha. Seriously, Youdopia, I hope it’s as funny as it used to be. I don’t really like any of the straight to  DVD’s they have released since being canceled.  They seem to have retained most of the creative talent, so I hope five years hasn’t dulled the wit, because Futurama used to be hilarious. Will it be the Coolest Thing Ever? Time will tell. There’s hope for humor yet. Remember my post, “Best Suicide Note Ever?“   Oh yeah. Where’s the inteview with David X. Cohen? Right here.

Good news, everyone! Comedy Central bought Futurama from Fox, and is starting a brand new season on June 24th. That is the Coolest Shit Ever, without a doubt, Youdopia.

The reason I haven’t called this the funniest thing ever, is because the recent Futurama movies, written and released after the cancellation, have been (in my opinion) awful. I hope Futurama can again rise to its absurdist heights, and make us laugh and laugh and laugh. We need more of that humor.

I can’t wait to see what kind of hits I get with a title like that. I’ll probably have to do another post about the interesting search terms people use to reach youdopia. I also have a hard on for the Squidbillies , so you’ll probably be getting a bunch of phoned in YouTube clips from said show.

Now on to the suicide note. It’s from Futurama, the new movie, The Beast With A Billion Backs. The note is written by a character whose disillusionment with the injustice of life leads him to take his own life. Pretty heavy for a cartoon, but hey, postmodern is as postmodern does. Anyhoo, the excerpt from the suicide note:

I have resolved to kill myself. In lieu of flowers, please beat yourselves in the face with rusty chains. Your friend, Bender.”

The whole reason for this post, aside from Bender’s note tickling me, as seeing if I can take screenshots from my media player ( I use Media Player Classic w/ the K-Lite Codec Pack… plays everything). Turns out I can. Prepare for more screenshots.
