I took an online test to self diagnose adult ADHD. If you scored a 11 or higher, you should “talk to your doctor”. I got a 23, Youdopia. I say this because that is how I found this video. Someone on my favorite Led Zeppelin forum posted a link to Keith Richards talking about.. something.. and from there it was bouncy, bouncy, bouncy to this little ditty. Keef n Ronnie doing a promo bump for the brand new MTV, back in 1981 or 82.. The reason that this is the Funniest Shit Ever, is what Keith says at the very end. He takes a drag from his cigarette, blows out and says, “Trust a pro.”  That is funny because the boys were obviously medicated and having, apparently, a bit of trouble with their lines, until Keef drops the bullshit and nails it. I love him.

I can watch hours of interview footage of him, because he’s funny as shit (great sense of humor), sharp as a tack, and truly, truly cool. Somewhere, probably 25 years ago I read an article saying that Keith was a zen master in a former life, and is using his merit to live a life (in this life) of unlimited action. I… can’t say it’s not true.

It’s called Lost Brussels (this version anyway) and it is, by far, the most popular, and common, Stones live recording. Click the pic to read about the myriad versions of it. I sent a copy to an old friend from high school, and I decided to share the download link with you. Free music. Gotta love it, and the quality can’t be beat, as it’s professionally recorded in stereo. It really is one of their best concerts ever, way better than Get Your Ya-Ya’s Out, in my opinion, and it is the Coolest Shit Ever. It is in keeping with the vibe of my earlier posts about the Exile On Main St reissue, and the bonus tracks therein.

This song, with Keith Richards for added legitimacy, is one of my favorite ever. Again, Tom sings in myths, he hums like a detuned radio.  Dear God, there’s so much of me that’s lain dormant.

Many miles away, something crawls from the slime, at the bottom of a dark Scottish loch.  It’s a great song. It gets to me the way the Pogues can, sometimes. Ah, well. So, I’m a bit maudlin. Swaha.

Keith Richards plays guitar the way Otis Redding sings. Chillblains. Yes he is a  saint. His realm is elemental, but halo of brass can shine as brightly as one of gold. Better a halo than a noose.
