Magnetic Movie Shows The Cosmic Dance All Around Us
This movie (Magnetic Movie) is very cool. It features footage from inside NASA’s Space Sciences Laboratories, UC Berkeley, with actual recordings of magnetic fields, and scientists explaining said fields. Most of the footage of the actual corona and such are CGI, but their shape and actions are not. It’s a nice 4 and half minute thingy. I hope you enjoy it. It’s been awhile since a neato science post has made it to youdopia.

Picture Taken Of A Pulse Of Light, Wave and All
I can’t even really pretend to understand this story, but it does strike me as being the dog’s bollocks. The photo and the video below are of a super short burst of light. How short? Well, short enough to photograph the entire wave form. You can see the beginning, middle, and end of the fucker. That’s neato to me. This is courtesy of the fastest ever flashgun, which fires a burst of light lasting only 80 billionths of a second. Craziness. What’s it mean? Dunno.

Super Cool Uber Geek Science Tattoos At Carl Zimmer’s Science Tattoo Emporium
My lovely wife found this site. It is a blog called Carl Zimmer’s Science Tattoo Emporium, and that’s exactly what it is. Zimmer collects pics of wonky tattoos by science peeps, grad students, etc. There are some beauties there. The above picture is an equation of Schroedinger’s (Schroedinger’s Tat is what I call it), and the pic below is based on an image of subatomic particles taken at the CERN super monster accelerator. This blog is neato, and if you’re interested, you should take a gander.

Turn Turn Turn. As Above So Below, Motherfucker.
I came across this today while trolling the Fortean Times for anomalies. You have to click on the pic to read the captions, but the gist is this. The picture on the left is a mouse neuron. The pic on the right is the universe. Thrice Great Hermes (Adam Kadmon to his cronies) may have been right.
